Plane tickets, luggage tags and other departure info
Record Locator 4P35P4 (Warren & Leslie Libutti) We are scheduled to leave on 5/15 on Austrian Airlines to Jordan. To date we have not received luggage tags or anything we would need to check into our flight. I was wondering if we are given all this when we arrive at Newark airport or will it be sent to us in the upcoming days.

Communication with OAT travel
I received a call back from them but I missed their call. I called back like they asked, was on hold for 3 hours, and then they hung up on me.
Ill will try to call back Monday. To find out our trip. Waiting to see the response to my concern about being boosted.
Im vaccinated but not boosted. And I am not going to be boosted.

Policies of needing a booster. We will not be getting booster so we will have to cancel our trip in September-

Cant reach them on the phone
I have a trip booked for Sept 2021, less than 60 days from now. I'm trying to reach them on the phone, was just on hold for 3 hours and they said I reached the maximum hold time and disconnected me!
Last time I tried, about a month ago, they picked up after 3 hours on hold. I would cancel in a second if I didnt need to get out of my house so badly after covid lockup in CA!

I have been on hold for almost 2 hours for each of the past 3 days. I need to review the financing of booked back to back trips to Spain and Portugal.
We are leaving for a few days and I want to pay in full in order to take advantage of the back to back good buy discount. OAT is a wonderful organization, but I fear that you are on your way to losing travelers because of the inordinate phone time wait. I look forward to your immediate call so that this matter will be resolved.

I was advised, after the Baltic trip was cancelled twice (due to Covid) that I would get all my money back. I paid $8,628.
They reimbursed me for $8,239.
What happened to the rest of the money??? I cannot seem to reach anyone to ask about the remaining $389.

KINDLY REFUND $600.00 TO MY BANK ACCOUNT. AND ALSO REFUND $700.00 TO MY CREDIT CARD. Both account numbers are on your files.
Looking forward to travel again on your trips after multiple procedures are completed as required by my Physicians and Surgeons.

User's recommendation: Be careful protecting your money when reserving your trips with OAT. If you make your trip, it will be good. If you can’t go, you won’t see your money back even though you buy insurance thru OAT. They like to give you future travel credits but not refund. What if you can’t travel for medical reasons? Tough luck. You would just lose your money.

My wife and I were excited to take a river cruise with Grand Circle Travel/Overseas Adventure Travel (GCT/OAT) in The Netherlands in spring 2021 to see the flowers. As “Preferred Sir Edmund Hillary Club Customers”, having made five previous trips with this company (customer number 962737), we pre-reserved our trip for mid-April 2021 and paid in full before the end of February 2020, over a year in advance.
Per the Holland Ministry of Tourism, “Tulip season runs from the end of March until mid May, but the flowers are usually at their best halfway through April.” On the 22nd of April 2020 we received a cold-call from James, a representative of GCT/OAT informing us that our reservation for Holland & Belgium in Springtime, originally departing April 17, 2021, had been cancelled and that we had been arbitrarily and without our permission or knowledge rebooked for the same tour departing March 17, 2021 a full month earlier. This change was made without our consent or acknowledgement, and per all available information, there would be no flowers during this period. Grand Circle Travel/Overseas Adventure Travel only offered a $250 credit per person to be applied to a future trip, and the option of booking another trip altogether. Any amount of compensatory money will not make the flowers appear in March.
On the following day upon consulting the online trip availability we found that the same river cruise was still scheduled to depart but two days later with five spaces remaining available. We were not offered the option of re-booking on the two-day later cruise.
We consider this deceptive business practice and un-professional as prior customers, and will recommend that others seriously reconsider booking with Grand Circle Travel/Overseas Adventure Travel.
THERE ARE NO FLOWERS IN THE NETHERLANDS IN MARCH, which is why we pre-reserved and pre-paid for mid-April 2021 !!!
If this company treats "preferred customers" in this manner how will they treat new customers. We will never again encourage or refer friends to travel Grand Circle/Overseas Adventure.

I booked a trip to Italy which they cancelled. A refund was approved and promised.
When I called to find out status I was told they are no longer issuing refunds and someone would be contacting me. I checked my account it shows trip cancelled and refund due but now shows a new departure date for next year. I assume if unable to travel when they tell me I will loose my money. I still have had no one contact me.
The terms of agreement specifically state if cancelled, full refund will be issued. If rebooked and dates not agreeable, full refund. Seems they are invoking a force majeure and changing policies that allow them to keep our money. The flight portion was fully refunded to them from Delta and not sure if any other trip expenses were actually accrued.
Seems they are keeping my money for over a year to cover their overhead.
I will go on rescheduled trip if not resolved as I will not give them over 6k of my money but that will be the last trip I take with them as this is just not acceptable. Their trips and guides are fantastic but customer service and business practice is not.

No refund for a trip canceled by the company
Company gave refunds to people on their China trips due to Corona virus.
However they canceled our trip to Turkey for the same reason and are
refusing to refund our money.
Conditions are the same...company canceled the trip! But NO refund for us.

Dissatisfaction With OAT Customer Services
About a year ago I scheduled a trip to Spain with friends for this March 2020. When the coronavirus spread to Western Europe we tried to cancel the trip but was told we would not be able to cancel but had to rebook within a year, so we scheduled it for March 2021.
We were charged $450 change fees even though OAT has sent messages that those fees would be refunded. That new date which was required overlapped with another OAT trip I had planned, so I cancelled the other trip and was fined another Stay Away from$300. I only had a deposit on that trip, and they are taking that.
Now my total penalty is $1050 and I cannot afford that amount. I will look for another company that is more compassionate and understanding as this virus is not under my control and I like to plan a year ahead for my travel.

Negative experience with Tripmate travel protection company
I have travelled on 15 trips with OAT and have been more than happy with them. I needed to cancel my last reservation due to illness and requested full refund which I did receive promptly.However, getting refund from Tripmate was a different story.
I had a negative,contentious experience with them. After many attempts to finalize and resolve the refund issue,I did receive what I expected from them in refund amount. It took from 5/23/18 until 12/31/18 to get satisfaction. I am sorry to hear you still use them as your travel protection company.
That is disappointing to me since you are an A1 company and your association with them as a working partner doesn't reach your level of customer service.
They have very poor customer service skills. I would not use them again.

I have a similar situation going back to a booking in January, 2019 for a trip to Egypt in 2020. I am looking for a copy of OAT's terms and conditions regarding cancellations which existed, last year when I booked as they promised a cash refund for cancellations which policy has recently changed.
